Many of you already know that Backcountry Hunters & Anglers is holding our 10th birthday national rendezvous in Denver this March 21-23 (Aurora, actually, which is safely away from the crazy downtown traffic). Until recently I didn’t think I’d be able to attend, given high travel costs and low income (SS is about it). Then I decided I owe it to the CO BHA home team to make a show. So I scraped up the bucks and am now registered … and sure would like to see you there too. We’ll have folks from all over the country, some of whom you’ll recognize from the pages of TBM and from here. TBM has been a major supporter of BHA from the start and Larry Fischer is on the national BHA board. A large percentage of members are trad bowhunters. It will be old home week!
In past here we’ve mumbled about having a tradbow.com member get-together. While an indoor event ain’t an outdoor camp and shooting range, it’s still a darn good start. While “my” documentary film “The Good Hunt” still won’t be ready for a public showing by then, it does appear that we will be able to have an early peek at Clay Hayes excellent trad bowhunting video … plus lots of other fun and uplifting seminars, speakers and all the usual spirited debauchery of such fun gatherings.

If you have questions, just post ’em here. Sure would be a cool way to meet one another and to collect all those beers you’ve offered in past. 😛 Dave P.

I’m gonna try my darndest to make it!

My wife and I are trying to plan for it. Last year was a blast! 😀

GOOD NEWS! As we continue to firm up the event schedule, we have just locked-on the premiere showing of Clay Hayes’ first full-length video, “The Untamed.” We’re hoping Clay will be able to be there, but if not I will intro the film, which may lead to a discussion of the woeful state of bowhunting media today. In any event here’s another reason to try and come. Here’s the preview link if you missed it first time around: https://vimeo.com/65916783
If Smithhammer shows up I assume he’ll be wearing suitable face camo. 😛

Dave, by following your BHA link above I just discovered that they have quite a collection of their ‘Journal’ magazines available as a free pdf download.
Like all my ‘discoveries’ I suspect this may have been common knowledge for everyone else. Be that as it may, I now have yet MORE reading to do to steal some wisdom from more experienced heads..
Cheers 😀

Jim, can you post that link here please? I love the group but have never been a fan of the website, which I find unnecessarily confusing to navigate … but I increasingly find it confusing to navigate from the rack to the head in the dark. That little magazine really shows promise and always leaves you wanting more. My dream is that it will someday be what the old Bugle used to be before RMEF went down the tubes … a rallying point for traditional-values hunters.
