I just got an Appalachain SavageRiver 58in. take down recurve bow 52lb at 27, my draw is 271/2 and the weight is good ,shoots good , but it has a new flemish string on it and it streched. I need to find out the brace hieght?

Hey Bloodtrailer, did you find the brace height you were looking for? I can’t find anything online about Savage River bows but maybe Appalachian Archery can help you. I didn’t see much on their site for traditional bows but maybe it’s not updated. The website is http://www.appalachianarchery.com/

Sorry I couldn’t be more helpful. You might try calling 3Rivers, Kustom King or Archery Past to see if they are familiar with that bow or if they have a “best guess” estimate to start at. Most bows require some tweaking even when you start at the recommended settings.

          Good luck.

Dave Guthrie, who made that bow, isn’t in the bow business anymore. The website you gave is not the same place…Dave lives in West Virginia, near Ravenswood. Try a brace height of about 7 3/4 and work it up and down until you find the spot that the bow likes the best. Brace height is more personal as universal.
