Hey everybody I recently put in an order for a Howard Hill Cheetah and I can’t wait for it to come in. I’m just wondering if anyone here has any or shoot any and what you all think about them.

I do not own one but, I think they are great Bows if that is what you are attracted to! I can certainly see some great attributes in the design.
I like the simple D shape, simple design, and have heard that; they are very quiet. They have a following by a enough shooters to keep Howard Hill Archery building Bows! I think I might have to have one someday. They seem to go with wood arrows and back quivers like pie and ice cream, lol
Hope you enjoy your new Bow!:D -
Just got it yesterday and its better than I imagined beautiful and shoots great. Highly recomend it to anyone interested.

Great bows with the nostalgia that goes with a great name! I have far too many bows in general but with 7 Hill bows on the rack and one coming in May, I guess I could admit to being a fan.:D My main “go to” bow is a Wesley Special, 70″ & 50# @30″.
Hill style bows seem to be either loved or hated but I guess I think that they are pictured as a bow when you look at the dictionary definition of a bow.

I shoot a plane-jane 63@29 Big-Five. I am looking for a TD in my future though…
Sweet Bow 3blades.
I think I will stick with the hill style. It is just too stable and forgiving for my poor form:lol:
Colorado elk will be in trouble this year:twisted:

How does the Fred Bear Montana Longbow 64″ slight R/D compare to a HH Bow? Are they close in the feel of the shot or would there be a distinct difference? It has been mentioned that the HH bow is forgiving and stable. I have a Bear Montana as part of my collection of bows and just wondered if it was a similar feel.

I have handled the Montana (though not shot one). I can tell you the handle on a Hill is MUCH different than the blocky feel of the Montana. Especially with a srtaight grip Hill. I also own a mild R/D Sky longbow and there is a distinct different feel between the unloading on the limbs of that bow vs the straight limbed Hill.
Not as extreme a difference as between a Longbow vs recurve…..but still a difference.

The only thing I can add is that there is a distinct “thunk” feeling when shoot. As you can see in the pic my grip is old school straight and quite narrow. But I am told that a learning curve is needed in how to properly grip it to cut down on that feeling. As far as it shoots it is just as accurate for me as my other bows from the start. I can also see the arrow flight much better with my hill bow as apposed to my other wider limb bows.

There is nothing else like shooting the straight limbed American Longbow8)
