Has anyone used Ruddersbows before? They seem to have some pretty nice bows at decent prices. Any thoughts?

Huh! Where is everyone? I’m going to move this thread to the Bows and Equipment Forum and see if you can get a response. 8)

Close as I can come was once having bought either arrow shafts or osage bow blanks from Rudder, several years ago. Good products and service and no complaints, but that really doesn’t answer your question. It would seem that the lack of responses suggests a “no” answer. At least for now. Good luck, dp

Sorry. Never heard of them before you asked. I visited the website and it looks more Renaissance Faire than fair chase.

Which is not to say the bows are not good values.

I’ve heard of them but I’ve never tried anything. I debated on ordering a Hickory flat bow and discussed poundage with them but that is as far as I got. I would still like to try one – or a War Bow.

I’ve heard good things about them on other forums. A mod on another forum tested the R/D Bamboo backed longbow and had nothing but good things to say about it.

The only negative I’ve ever heard is that their poundage seems to vary quite a bit from what you order. That may just be a rumor.

Well, I ordered one of their all bamboo R/D Longbows. I have been shooting for just over a year now, but I’m a lefty shooter and have been shooting a right handed bow. Got pretty good with it, but wondering if I could do better with a lefty so I ordered one.
I want to start hunting, but want to be sure I am shooting correctly, and responsibly, before going after an animal. I have a decent bow range here in El Paso, so I can get in some good practice. Thanks for the comments, I do appreciate it.

D/P- I’m originally from Colorado and can’t wait to get back to it. 8 more years till retirement then I can start all over again back in the beautiful wilds of Colorado. Although I am pretty partial to the Western Slope.

I’ve used Rudder Bows before and will again. Friendly people to work with. Must have answered a dozen questions for me before I ordered. Give them a chance.

Thanks. I talked to both the owner and his wife and they were very helpfull. I am looking forward to getting the bow I ordered.
