I know this is way off topic from anything archery related but its worth a shot. I bought an old (I think) single blade Boker pocket knife today. The blade is stamped HEINR/BOKER & CO BAUMWERK-SOLINGEN GERMANY-ALEMANIA. It has the tree stamp on the other side of the blade at the tang. It has brown bone handles with the boker tree and SOLINGEN under it. I’ve searched the net but I haven’t been able to find anything even close to it. Does anybody here have any idea about when it could have been made? I know the folks here appreciate traditional and antique items so I thought someone may have some knowledge on the subject. Thanks alot.

Böker is still in Solingen. Not sure how old yours is.

Looks like a sweet classic! I have a few Bokers, but nothing as old as that one appears to be. If someone doesn’t come out of the woodwork here with the info you’re looking for, you might want to post this over on Bladeforums, in the “Traditional Folders” board. There are some walking encyclopedias of knife history over there.

I had a Boker “Tree Brand” that I carried for years. It disappeared from a motel room where I was once upon a time. I fought the battle but lost. I really liked that knife.

              That’s cool what you have.

I have a Boker that I bought in 89. It’s been one of my daily carry pocket knives, a small stockman style. It’s been a good knife. dwc

Thanks alot for the replies and the info guys. I love to hear about an old pocket knife just about as much as I like to hear about a bow. Smithhammer, I’ve posted on bladeforums about the knife. Thanks pointing me in that direction.
