Successful? You bet! Never got to shoot at a bird but saw a couple Toms and had a blast.
A little camping and walking the spring woods…nothing better!
Found this pic and then spent most of my day with my head down shuffling around.
That’s when a Tom blew out at 15 yards! No doubt attracted to my shroom shuffle in the leaves…..not sure how the heck he did not see me sooner though.
I thought Howard Road might bring me some luck hunting with the Wesley Special!
I spent the next morning trying to entice Mr. Tom back. Used my Ghillie head cover and sat REAL STILL.
Oh well…..back to my local haunts.

I have been trying to get a Tom my way, on public land, and without a blind now for 9 years. I love it and one day everyone in the woods will hear me if I get one! I haven’t even had a shot at one yet but don’t much care:D
