Just wanted to give praise to Doug Humphreys for his excellent essay in the latest TBM – a beautiful, thought-provoking essay about the nature of instinctive shooting.

And, as someone who is halfway through a month of archery elk season, it was great to get a solid reminder that the quality of the hunt is not tied to the killing. In theory I always know this, but in the thick of it, it can be easy to lose sight of.

Thanks, Doug. And thanks TBM, for continuing to be a breath of sanity amongst the bulk of hunting publications.

Yah I have to say I connected deeply with this article, too. Takes a lot of integrity to lay out your thoughts and feelings for others to see.

An echo: Thanks Doug, and thanks TBM.
