Funny thing when I was a kid oh about 8 or 10 had a aluminum bow that had a foam grip that was wrapped with red tape of some kind about 40 lbs ? Shot wood arrows some of the fondest  memories I had some of the only memories I had it was great, wish I could remember who made it what company.

          Hi Ronald

Hopefully someone with experience with one of these bows will comment . I am not familiar with bows having aluminum limbs ( risers for takedowns ,yes)   – looked around. Apparently a company named Grimes marketed some? ( Michigan) .  Scuttlebutt says to use as wallhangers as the aluminum can give way over time.

I think maybe it was a steel bow?  Before fiberglass came along, there were several styles of steel bows.  The best were made in Europe.  Once fiberglass came along, the steel bows faded away.

It was fun to shoot, didn’t know much about them back then it was accurate though.
