After over 25 years of bowhunting with a compound I finally sold all my stuff and ordered me a new longbow. I have tinkered around with traditional for a little over 10 years and finally decided it was time to go all in. I have a recurve that a friend made me about 5 years ago that I have been shooting the heck out of till my longbow gets here. Archery is my passion. I have worked at 3 archery shops and enjoy learning new things everyday. I did all my own work on my compounds and did my own arrows. Cant wait to start my new journey on learning even more. Just fletched up my first cedars for a buddy and they are flying great. Cant wait to read all the stuff on here. Glad to have a place to go to learn and laugh.

Welcome, Stick! 😀

All archery can be fun, but trad is like flyfishing…You can dive as deep as you want, or not, and still have a blast!
Tie on a muddler or wolly buggar and catch fish and grin a lot.
Shoot wood, carbon, tried and true stuff, or delve into the more ancient stuff or find new methods, material and techniques to milk the most from your simple stick and string.
Most fun you can have with your clothes on and in public!

I extend my welcome as well. You will find that in addition to the great content and learning here – you will meet great people. I find myself much more at home with the Traditional family.

Welcome – you’ve found a great place!

Welcome to the site. I gave up compounds also a few years ago. Gave it to my son who had a very old compound, about one of the first one’s out. Hope he eventually learns the joy of traditional.Glad you have made the leap.

WV,
Welcome! I too am a converted wheel bow hunter. I shot traditional as a teenager, but lost my way somewhere. Last fall I dusted off my old recurve and have been grinning from ear to ear since.
The compound hasn’t been our of it’s case in 6 months!
I learn something new about this game every day. Gotta love that.
