A little off topic…

On a Tuesday morning, 11 years ago I was laying in bed. It was my day off so I was sleeping in. My wife called me from work and told me to turn on the TV, something was going on.

It is important that we remember the lessons learned that day, lessons that in my opinion can be applied to all facets of our lives. Lessons like, we are not invulnerable, we need to cherish those around us, for we never know when we may forever part ways without ever having the chance to tell them how important they are to us, that the freedoms we enjoy came to us at a price, a very high one and that no matter what, we are all Americans. No matter our differences, we will stand united through anything that anyone can throw at us.

Thank you to all the men and women serving in the military, law enforcement, as fire fighters and EMS. You are in our thoughts and prayers every day.

Catherine MacRae was lost that day. Coming to work early that day to her new job at the Fred Alger Co on the 93 floor. Everyone there on that floor died that day.

Cat was a cousin on my fathers mothers side of our family. However distant a cousin, all MacRaes are my family and MacRaes never ever forget.

I believe a lot of us forget — even with it’s foibles – what a wonderful place the USA is, and we always have to be on guard and prepared to defend it. Especially if we want to maintain this interesting, diversified, and wonderfully different coalition of people! Hopefuly they mostly feel the same way, and want to continue the original ideals of freedom, and the republic—-
