I had the privilege to make a number of bows for Christmas gifts this year. After the fifth bow for someone else I decided it was time to get a bit selfish and build one for myself. So I did! I used what is now my favorite veneer wood, “Canary Wood” with Black Locust core wood and Black Locus/Walnut riser, and Paduk overlays. This bow is a 60″ ntn R/D longbow 50# at 28″. It is absolutely dead quite and no handshock. I was out shooting it today and a buddy asked, “who is that one for?” With a big smile I said…This one is all mine!

Beautiful bow! The simple off set of color the black locust adds is artfully done. You have a talent that I’m envious of like many others here that have the talent to make their own bows.:D
Thank you for sharing.

Wow, Cameron – that is gorgeous, and that unstrung profile is sheer perfection in my biased opinion. Well done, sir!

Hey, we can’t fully love others unless we love ourselves. 😀 Truly professional, that is artful, work. Congrats.

Thanks for all the kind words – I ended up getting sick this last week…wow this is a rough one. I pray you all stay healthy – When I get sick I am reminded how wonderful good health is…isn’t that usually the way things work…we don’t realize how good we have it until things go wrong. I am hoping I have energy to get out and shoot my bow today…I had hoped to take it out for it’s first stump shooting experience.
