A cool front is moving through the hills later this week. I can almost taste the changing season. The angle of the sun has changed. It won’t be long till the woods beckon…. I can hardly wait.

It’s all in the quality of light. Still hot here too most days: forecast 92 tomorrow. But lows are consistently in the low 40s or cooler and “it” truly is “in the air.” Our time of year is approaching, amigos! I have a tent set up in the yard and like a kid, it calls to me. Unfortunately, the wife prefers the cabin. Hell of a fix! dave

Funny you say that Dave I like to sleep under the stars in the yard like I did when I was a kid also:D.

Best night I ever had; my wife, daughters and myself watching the night sky till we all dozed off.

Cool front is here!! Lows probably in the fifties next few nights. Not bad for Arkansas in August.

Last weekend was awsome. We had a high of around 65 on Sunday. I had 4 cows and 3 calves walk 15 yards from me. Never knew I was there.:D

Our time of year indeed! I feel all giddy inside, kinda like just before you pick up your date for senior prom.

I went up to Glacier Nat’l Park last Sunday, and about 6500 feet (maybe higher), there was a layer of…SNOW!!! Granted, it’s probably all gone by now, but it was a most welcome sight. We’ve been seeing mid-80’s here during the day, but upper 40’s to mid 50’s at night. It’s coming very very soon for us. I’ve got two weeks to get everything organized and sharpened and whatever else needs done. Oh, and I must soon go buy my deer and elk tags (should have been done months ago, but better late than never, right?)

There is definitely something in the Kansas breeze, a
soul stirring of sorts. My mind has been drifting along
streams in the flint hills all day. Time to sharpen
                          broadheads for sure!

As of this moment as I type, the temperature is about 43 degrees, with an expected high of about 92 degrees later today.

That cooling breeze finally made it here to southern New York State. Appalachian Mountains – ecologically speaking is nothing more than a gigantic Rain Forest! With High heat and very, very humid… for most of the summer. I sure am glad, Autumn is not far in coming now!
