Hi everyone! I’ve been absent from this site for a while, and I’m happy to be back with you all! I’ve been working my a** off these last two months, traveling constantly. I’m back in the Hudson Valley this week on mini vacation until Saturday! It felt so good to hit the woods yesterday with my Shrew, that I hadn’t shot, or handled, let alone seen since May!!!! After shooting 10 arrows in the ground with my eyes closed to get a solid dead release again, I went in the woods and had fun, and after 10 minutes I was really hittin’em real good! I used to be a bowholic and got pleasure from buying and selling bows, but now, since I’ve been shooting the same bow and same arrows for 4 years straight, I get extreeeeme pleasure from accuracy! I’m happy to gloat shamelessly about the 2 shots below, taken at about 50 yards!!! OK, I ain’t no Howard Hill or Jason Wesbrok, but still…8)

First the stump, then my next arrow hit about 5″ below the sunny wood chip I was aiming for! Man, I love stumping’!!! Check out West Point across the river!

I hope you guys will appreciate the little redneck-mobile I’m driving this week. Having sold my car ( I live in NYC ), my girlfriend’s gardening truck we use for mulch and brush is all I got right now! Jeer on!! 😀

Good to hear from you again, Alex! It must feel great to get out in the woods with a simple and beautiful bow in your hand after all of your travels. For us kindred archer spirits, there really is something therapeutic about it that is hard to describe.

And your chariot has no shortage of “character”…

              Hi Alex,

Great views and great shots! Good to see you out there. I’m glad you are busy with work, too. Yep, I love that truck. When I bought my house I also bought a used Nissan 4wd for hauling firewood. That was my mid-life crisis car! The truck is gone, unfortunately, but the spirit lives. peace, dwc

Hi Alex, has to be the Hudson Highlands, beautiful woods, been there many times. I used to live in Wappingers Falls. Moved north to Clinton Corners. Love the truck, every redneck should have one. Thanks for the pics and inspiration. Bob Ledrich

Glad your back!! 😀 And glad to see you got out to enjoy nature.

Nothing wrong with a bit o’ gloating on your shots. If I could hit that well after a 3 month hiatus I’d gloat a bit too.

I had a truck with “character” once…. ended up letting my Dad and Uncle have it for some work they did for me. I don’t really miss it because I see them broke down as much as I was when I had it. Reminds me what a piece of…… not so fine machinery it really was. I believe I got the best deal on that barter.

                  Keep up the great shootin’.

                  Troy

Actually some fly fishing bums, are kinda proud to have a rod that is worth more than their ride.

Good to hear from you again, and to know you are safe, and well.

Adirondacks! Love them! Backpacked in summer and winter but never hunted. What an adventure that would be. I might take you up on that, brother!! 😀

OK – I do day hunts, Backpack, Canoe in and Camping hunts every year. Starting to see more Moose in the areas too so don’t forget your camera. Just let me know if you would like to go sometime.

Love to see your adventures Alex, I know the area you hunt, some great bucks running those ridges and a sense of History walking that ground.

I’m missing our land in Pine Bush/Montgomery area, we have a 800ac. piece of heaven in Orange Co, NY. loaded with deer, rabbits, turkey, ducks etc…

Also missing the cabin north of Gloversville, NY. many memories of hunting the Adirondacks…

(I dont think I will be making it back to NY this year to Hunt)

So Alex and AdirondacMan keep the photos coming…
