All from the place that draws me back, the Santa Rita mountains in southern Az(during an early morning monsoon rain), blessed to live 12miles away and I visit a few times a week to set trail cams, there are Jaguars here and a friend has over 50photos, I’m trying for my first, scouting Coues, bear, lions, shed hunting, viewing indian camps, and during the month of January, chasing the wary Coues with recurve in hand…

Sounds Nirvanic! I thought you had to “draw” for everything to hunt in AZ and NM, including small game?

How you get to hunt all these critters?

hehehe DocNock, I’ve taken 75-100 deer with a recurve, so I can afford to be alittle picky, although most any Coues 8pointer(eastern count) will make P&Y…

Say “Hi” to Levi(Amish Mafia) for me!!!! Stay away from Ester, she’s the evil one hehehe…

Bow deer are over the counter in Arizona, no draw, one deer per year limit… Bow bear is over the counter also in this unit, lion is all year, no limit, turkey is tag draw(no tags this year)…

And I was lucky enough to grow-up on a farm in southern NY, the land we have now in NY gives out somewhere around 180 game management permits per year(we dont get them anymore, but up to 5deer tags are given with each licence, so more then enough to fill freezers and give to needy local familys)…

Those 2 names don’t narrow it down much in the Amish community, but I’m no longer on a first name basis with any. Was out of the area way too much and now the 13 kids all took over the farms…and the drug cartel!:roll:

When I researched the F&G website for AZ it didn’t look like there was much of any open tags! Nice that you have a NR place to go like you do.

I’m hoping to move to either MO or AR and a trip is planned to check out both states… to put “boots on the ground” and make some tough choices. At this age, if I don’t do it NOW it will NOT happen!

Thanks for sharing your piece of heaven!

Bow coues and muley are easy to get, elk is all draw…

The drug cartels have kept me out of some of the best deer country in Az for over 20years, Areas being closed to the public because of the high traffic, check-points, etc… Yeah we can carry handguns while bow hunting, but it sux to have cartels and the Border patrol running around spooking the game, and frankly me also… I go for the joy of being out in wilderness, not being in a combat mindset(been there done that)…

I have some friends in AR, I stop off in Tulsa, OK to check for arrowheads, fossil buff heads in the Arkansas river when I’m driving back to Ny each year, nice to walk the gravel bars and maybe make some finds…. Good deer in both AR and Mo…. Good Luck in either place…

Great pics, 1shot! Gila Monsters are really amazing critters.

I think we need to orchestrate a TBM reunion in southern AZ…:D

So what’s the time frame on those pictures? Did you take those all on the same day?

                                    Very very nice.
