Wanted to share my latest find. 1967, 58″ Bear Kodiak Hunter recurve. This was the first year for the KH, and it was the only year for a 58″ model. The riser is Shedua, two piece riser, and it is in wonderful condition. Haven’t shot it yet….going for surgery tomorrow (gall bladder), so it will be another week or so before I can get it to the yard.
Fred made these bows with one piece, two piece and even I-beam risers; he was a master for not wasting good bow wood. 😉 I’ll let you know how it shoots in a few weeks. Click on photo for slides. -
Thanks for sharing George, and good luck with the surgery. Pop in when you are feeling up to it and let us know you’re okay.

Will do Robin, thank you.

George — How many bows do you own? 😀 Good health to you! dave p

Hi-ya George!
Nice K.Hunter. I have a ’73 in that oddball green Futurewood. Yours is a looker. They’re good, reliable bows.
Do good with your surgery. Hope you’re out flingin’ with that nice Hunter soon!

David, not nearly enough. 😆

George,
I have a mirror image to that bow, Left handed 65#’s, Owen Jeffery design. -
Yes Larry, Owen was in on the changeover from Kodiak to Super Kodiak too, as well as Bear’s target line. He slimmed them down and designed some very nice shooting bows.

Sweet!
Hope to find me a lefty some day in 45 or 50 pounds.
