I live South of Portland, OR. Area bowhunters have the particular good fortune to have three 3D ranges within 20 miles or so. Two have 40 targets the other 25. These are open every day and cost is $10.00 on the honor system. I use these ranges to practice my uphill and downhill shooting. I live in an area where it is illegal to shoot a bow in your backyard.

Man your lucky. The last time I was in Portland I was impressed by the simple fact there was a range at the park I was walking. I tried to get one in Idaho where I live and they looked at me like a tree full of owls.I shoot in my own yard and some folks say I can’t but the police say I can. I have always liked Portland and here is one good reason why.

I think you were in Washington Park. There is a big range near the zoo and rose garden.

I also live in Portland but have yet to hit any of the 3d ranges. I practice plenty at the indoor ranges, but I’m a little hesitant to try the 3d range having no knowledge of what to expect shooting trad only. Any suggestion on which to start with?

A very nice range is Pickle Creek, near Mulino. $12.00 for 40 targets. Quaility targets. Takes me 2 hours to shoot the course. After you pay and sign in just follow the numbered orange stakes. Some targets are shoot and go and some are pull and return.

LOCATION: 17700 S. HALLBACKA LN. MULINO OR. 97042.

Fill out a waiver and put money and waiver in the envelope and then into the pay box.

HOURS OF OPERATION: SEVEN DAYS A WEEK! 6:00AM-8:30PM./ Winter 8:00AM-5:00PM
