This pic of a two fletch arrow with a strong helical was posted on the Backcountry Hunters and Anglers FB page today. I’m tempted to give it a try!

That is quite a pic! Not sure I can mentally handle 2 fletch.

Cool pic. I’d be curious to know (roughly) where it was taken.

Drew – keep us updated on your 2-fletch experiments.

GOOD!!! YOU spend the time, money, and endanger yourself, and let us know the results. Keep the gory details to yourself.

Thanks to Mom’s help here’s some info that might be useful.

I know it pertains to plastic vanes but I think there’s some info that may be useful for using feathers. Feathers will kick off your riser or shelf too so the positioning of feathers like he did the vanes might be worth trying.

I would but I’m not going to invest in a right wing set up for my fletching jig. If I come across one El cheapo then I’d try it in a heartbeat.

I was hoping that you’d know who took this picture! Don’t you know everyone in the BHA?

I shoot 3 x 4 and when one fearher came off an arrow it flew quite well with three feather. For fun, I removed another to leave two opposing. It flew great. When one of the remainders got scraped off, it flew crazy. It would be better to shoot it bare shaft at that point. Dwc

Anyone put any time into 2 vanes?…there’s a bloke over here(Aus)that shoots cock in feather and 2 vanes and has been doing it for years.

I fletched up some 2 vanes but any data is corrupted by my lack of skill lol

Take a look at it ironmind archery systems. Joel Turner is his name and spoke with him at

ETAR. Very interesting. Shoots at thumb ring and two feathers.
