        From Thomas A. Forbes, “Guide to Better Archery”, a 1955 publication. Love the old information and illustrations. They are self explanatory. Check the NAA rounds….you guys who think 30 yards is a long shot. 😀

          I’d been shooting about a year at that time. Yes, but NAA used BIG targets that don’t run away or hide! 😆

            I had not even been thought of yet. My little fiberglass Shakespeare bow was still a few years away.
            My uncle taught me to string my bow like the figure shown with the tip over the ankle and the handle under the opposite leg. Thanks George!

              I was still in the oven at that time, George. But, I do remember the Field Rounds… 40, 50, 60 even 80 yards. I love the field rounds, some places in Central New York here, still have them. I was a member of the New York Field Archers & Bowhunters Association (NYFAB). Archery History is always great stuff!
