I don’t live in Colorado, so I don’t know a whole lot about their hunting and what-not, but I do know that elk typically tend to inhabit some very steep and unforgiving country. Get yourself in GOOD physical condition if you aren’t already. Here in Montana, there’s lots of hiking up and FARTHER UP in elk country to get into the high country basins they like to hide in. Of course, if you happen to be on top of the mountain (which happens in some cases), they’ll be WAY DOWN IN THAT HOLE, and it probably won’t be a nice grassy walk down or back out.
