I’ve made a few, but I wouldn’t call myself a knife maker by any means,so, I usually use Nicolson files or purchase a fine blade, the top skinner knife is a file knife, and the bottom is high carbon steel,their not finished, I still have to do the scrimshaw and add the final finish to them, I’m making these for a friend to go along with his Elk bow that I’m also making, What’s cool to me is that he shot the Elk that these knives, the stand, and the bow are made from, What a way to show off a trophy……and what looks like rough edges on the tops of the knives are actually fancy filework, sorry about the small pic.
