im looking to buy a long bow. we dont have a good trad. archery shop any place close. i saw an add for tomahawk from 3rivers. i called and the helpfull staff had great things to say about it. before i spend 700 dollers i would like an unbias opinion. i see adds for custome bows in trad. bowhunter mag. they look great.dont know what to do.any help would be appreciated. for the record i shoot a 3 year old bear grizzly recurve.

It’s really best to test a bow out before you buy it. I think 3 Rivers lets you test it out, as do many of the custom guys.

I’m sure some folks will chime in here saying how great the 3R bow is. So if that bow speaks to you, try it out. If it doesn’t work for you, it will cost you just the shipping.

If you’re even remotely close, you should try to get to Kalamazoo, Michigan for the expo Jan. 29-30. You’ll have LOTS of bows to try out.

Pat are you going to Kazoo in January? Nick and I will be there on Saturday, plan on shooting some bows this year!

Better believe it. I plan on going Friday and Saturday. Saturday’s for certain.

I made the trip to 3 Rivers all the way from Georgia and did try out the bows.
I spent 3 hours shooting everything they had and ended up buying a Woodland Long bow.
The staff was great help and really bent over backwards to help me.

Good for you. Now you just have to enjoy it, the hard part is over. Good Luck!
