Very Nice. I’d like to see some close ups of the finished work now…

Do you do anything to harden up the steel? Or do you find stainless spoons?

Steve I start with stainless spoons so that no hardening is needed. Here are the pictures you requested.

Finished Broadhead weighs just a hair under 90gr.

Here it is installed on an arrow (I’ll do a video of this later when I get a chance).

Here are the measurements of the head (forgot to do that before installing it)

Let me know if there are any other questions.

That is very cool. Just need to see how the blood drips off it now.

Here is the video of the test I did on the trade point. Let me know what you think, both of the results and the test itself. If anyone has an idea of how to test it better let me know. Thanks

                Bounty Hunter —
Thanks – Very interesting info, probably just what the Comanche’s [ and other Native American Nations did]building BHds out of available metals.
curious to see how, well it performs –

That is very cool,do they hold an edge well? I’m mean after all the saying is “duller than a spoon” seriously its really slick looking and i will definitely be trying that someday! Thanks

Thanks guys!!! The one I shot into the plywood was still very sharp, so I’m thinking the edge will hold up under hunting conditions. Not going to use them this weekend as I’m waiting on the right shafts to arrive to build a good set for my selfbow. There is still plenty of time and I have plenty of tags to try and get some blood on them this season.

Here is the last video in the series on trade points. This one shows how to install a trade point on an arrow and it also shows how to install a stone point on an arrow. Enjoy and let me know if you have any questions. 😉
