Well guys…knowing what Nate could do with the Hunters at $279, I just had to try a Royal at $479.
Now the Hunter is a nice bow. I love them and they are definitely an awesome bow to hunt with. I didn’t think the Royal would be that much better for $200 more.
I was wrong. They are both great and have a purpose, but this is in a different class all its own. A little thicker than the Hunter all over but smoother and faster. Just an incredible bow and buy.
This one is 47# at 28″. Curly maple riser with cocobola accent, red elm limbs with bocote veneers and cocobola/phenolic tips. Clear glass and a satin finish covers it all. Riser is cut even further to center than my first Hunter and the shelf is crowned perfectly.
Wow. Perfect. I’m seriously impressed. I only wish my photos did it justice.

Oh its a sweet shooter but I need to actually get it out to a 3d course. I’m tired of shooting at a bale!
Unfortunately my newborn has been really fussy lately and I haven’t really had a chance to break it in properly. I’m trying to figure out what arrow/tip combos it prefers. I’m also still stretching the string.
I may even tray Fast Flite as I have phenolic in the tips.

Congratulations on the newborn who will get his/her wisdom on bow hunting from a great Dad. Something to look forward to.

She is doing just fine! Daddy is a little tired though.
Grandpa and I can’t wait to get a bow in her hands! Might have to place a call to Mike over at Maddog. I guess I have some time. One of those fiberglass jobbies will do the trick. 😛

Congratulations on the little angel!:D I got my Bama Bow in this past week. Great bow, Nate is a first class man to deal with. Nate found a small and I mean small spot under the glass and offered to build another bow for me. I asked to see the bow so he shipped it out and he did not feel good about it I must admit. Anyway she is a beauty and shoots great. I spoke with Nate after receiving the bow and he was glad I called because he insisted on building another bow for me. Long story short he is building another bow,the hunter with Osage limbs curly maple riser and other specials included. I must say he is really a man who stands behind his work hard to find that quality these days. That act alone will have me making future purchases to add to my growing bow collection. I also just purchased a Tomahawk desert fox, both bows are 55#@28″ the Bama is 66″ that was custom by Nate most of his bows are 68″. The Tomahawk is 64″.

Thanks Man! She is an Angel – only slightly stinkier lol.
Same experience here. Nate wanted to replace my first Hunter because he mixed the finish too hard and it started flaking a bit. I simply had him refinish it and its perfect. He wanted to replace my 2nd Hunter because I wanted horn on the tips and the caramel horn he chose turned black when sanded and he wanted to replace THAT bow. I declined and he still says I can send it back whenever to have it replaced with phenolic!
Its amazing how far he has come since December 2009. Since buying my first bow I’ve seen him add at least 8 other woods to his options, horn/phenolic limb tip options, a takedown option, veneers, the Royal, etc. Hell I’ve even got the first Hunter with the extreme cut-to-center riser! lol
That is incredible growth in a short period of time. There is a lot of Bama buzz too. I was the only one talking about his work forever. Its nice to have friends! lol He needs to put an ad in Tradbow.
