I just got a feather chopper that cuts “Tradtional” shaped feathers! Here are a few POCs that I refletched using that shape! Arrows fly real nice and I really like the shape as an alternative to shield cuts!

Nice work ripforce. Is that a convex type of cut? What model/make did you buy for a cutter?

The make is a Little Chopper and the cut is called Traditional, it is alot lot like the Medival type arrows they get a lot of Heilical to them and they slantback real sharp, you have to locate them allittle farther down the shaft because of the drastic angle at the back! I shot them today in high wind at 3D targets they stabilize real well and shot great!

I have been using that cut for many years it doies tend to be a little noisy I dont think id use it for hunting.

Ya I agree I prolly won’t use them for hunting just for 3Ds and the like!

Very nice! About six months ago I tried the same thing only I didn’t have a chopper so I used scissors to cut some 5 1/2 shields. It turned out ok but not quite so nice as yours. Mine are a little rough looking.

But, shooting at an indoor range, I had a friend tell me which arrows he could hear the loudest. He could not tell the difference between shields and the “traditional” shape. Now that I have seen these, I’m gonna do up some more! I do love this type of shape.
