Curious if many drop to a lower draw weight in cold weather. I have been considering ordering a set of 42 lb limbs just for stand hunting of whitetails. Minnesota weather can be down right cold but if the wind is not blowing even 0 degrees for me these days is tolerable. I am getting older compounding my problem and after 33 yrs of carpentry and counting, it has taken a toll on my muscles and joints. I’am a pretty fair shot, limit my shots to 20 yds and under, draw length of 30″ and cut on impact two blade heads. What ya think?

Hey, I’m 68 yrs. old and have no problems at all with shooting bows in the +/-45# range, cold or not. I think what you’re thinking on is a great idea. A well placed shot with that gitup will do the trick. It takes a well placed shot with any gitup to do the trick. So go for it. Way better than being over bowed and stiff and cold and mucking things up.

Is it stiff and cold or stiff and old I be sometimes?:lol::lol: Shhhh!!!

          Be well!Ralph.

I agree with Ralph. Your setup will take game just fine with a well-placed shot.

Thanks for the feed back. I kept thinking I just needed to practice more and build up my strength, which I guess practice is a good thing, but many times my joints and/or muscles were already overworked and sore. I did lay off shooting for a extended period one time. Upon resuming shooting, immediately noticed my body had heeled some previously troubled spots……….so hence my caution. I like where I am at right now and really do not want to reinjure cronic pains in my elbows and shoulder.
