The other day I finally got to view some of jasonsmako’s video’s. Some great info there on how to shoot. So concentrate on the spot or the hair –but if you can mentally imagine a red dot on your target. Well in years past I cast that dot with a laser on targets that shot back::shock:

Well yesterday and today I shot and focused that imagined spot on blank targets—oh you have to try it. But Think Red dot.:D

        Thanks Jason–great tip.

Jason is a treasure-trove of helpful, practical data on a wide range of good stuff!

I’ve always thought it somewhat “silly” to try at my age to see a “hair” when I basically have to SEE the deer!

But Mike, that idea of a red dot can work. I don’t have a long history of “red dot” use, but I can surely conjur up one easier than to FOCUS on a single HAIR!

I tend to go for the white crease…but even that isn’t always so easy depending on light conditions.

I’ve not read all Jason’s stuff, just selective ones, mostly that he’s posted here or elsewhere, but that one will STICK

          Thanks Guys!

Great idea Mike! Longest shot (rifle) I made on a whitetail was just shy of 400 yards using that same principle. I try to vision that when I shoot my bow.

              doc

Yep as the eyes age we need all the help we can get without techno stuff. Jason’s stuff is a hoot he is so animated in his presentation that you just have to laugh and get involved. My only issue with his video is that his deer kill is ? ruined by a coyote–sorry I don’t buy that. The coyotes were doing their job and the hunter failed at his–IMHO:D

No offense Jason just this Marines view.

But then that’s what’s neat about this site you post it your gonna get comments and they aren’t abusive just another opinion.

A simple, and brilliant, visualization technique. One of those, “why have I never thought of that before?!?” ideas. Thanks, Jason.

Here is my red dot attempt at 60 yards.

Oh well I tried to post a video – it worked once and then went all white.

                    Cameron –

I’ve noticed that sometimes with posting videos it take a few seconds before the embedded video actually appears on the page, until then, it just looks like white space.

If the vid is hosted on YouTube, just cut and past the “share” link into your post, and it should be visible.

Great tip, Jason! Now that I know it, I can’t “visualize” not using it from this point on.

Anyone know how much duct tape I’ll need to get my shotgun scope attached firmly to my new-to-me Morrison custom Dakota? 😈

I first read about the concept in the book Instinctive Archery Insights by Jay Kidwell. I am not able to imagine a red dot or any object on a wall at any given distance. Eyesight is good !! Must be the brain. Boy that one is loaded 😕

That idea could actually penetrate my thick skull! This could be an e=mc2 moment for my shooting. Thank U!
