Big congratulations to Alex Bugnon, jazz pianist and trad bowhunter supreme, who made a fast clean kill on a dandy whitetail buck this morning. I trust he’ll share the story and photos here when he can.
And let me take this op to offer my congratulations and admiration to ALL trad bowhunters who kill whitetail from the ground, no bait, no tent blinds on food crops, just walking and sitting in the woods as Alex does it. These past few years I’ve spent enough time hunting whitetails, in AR and AZ, to come to appreciate just how tough they are. From my current experience level, it seems darn near impossible to kill one from the ground with no crutches. My hat is off to all who do. That’s REAL hunting! Elk may be bigger, but whitetails are infinitely more challenging to get close to.
