I have been in archery off and on since I was 15 years old, in a few days I’ll be 72.
Yet every bow (recurves mostly) They are all I own, I’ve shot no matter the bows rateing @ 28″ or the arrow’s spine rateing, I tend to shoot wood arrows a tad on the stiff side. I have always had to aim a tad to the right in order to hit the “spot” I wished to hit.
I have and am now using a B.W. PMA 62″ 47#s @ my DL of 30″
and have tried a lot of diffrent spine weights the one I am currently shooting now is 50-55# spine w/160 gr points arrow length (uncut) is 32″ or 31 1/4″ from BOP to nock throat, 3 fletch w/5″ shield cut feathers. I have tried spine weights up to 65-70″ and have always had to aim to the right with each set of spine weights.
I shoot 3 under so naturally I gap shoot. I shouldn’t have to gap to the right also should I? I am thinking of lowering arrow spine to 45-50 or 50-52. with the same point weight & arrow length.
I would like some input on this please
It has been fun experimenting but expensive I am on a “fixed income” and usually have to wait for my monthly stipend before spending money on archery.

Yes Congratulations on your Birthday Cyrille:!: I’m 61 and can only hope that I’m as active as you are when I’m 72:!:
Sorry I also do not have the means of helping with your problem but also am interested in what others have to say.
Regards Bruce

Hi, and welcome Cyrille.
From my experience I know if I’m shooting left its because my eye is not directly over the arrow, it will be left of the nock. I have to make an effort to push into my anchor, hope this helps.
And happy birthday!
Mark.

Cy,,,New to the forum, was just looking through the posts and came upon yours,
Do you shoot off the shelf? I was shooting that way and shooting left also. I went to a plunger button and that helped very little. Since I also like stiffer wood arrows I thought that would help, but in reading I find that the arrows should flex back after leaving the bow and fly straight. Then I found out I had been shooting with a left eye aiming, (i am right handed and shoot that way). I automaticly look over the arrow for a split second to gage distance,(with my right eye) then switch to left eye for windage. I always shoot with both eyes open. I found out about this problem by having a pardner watch me shoot while standing in front of me off to my left side. I wear glasses, and when I look over the arrow with my right eye, in the shooting postion, at full draw, my view is really busy, with the arrow, string, bow,and inside rim of my glasses cloging up the sight picture. I think the view from the left eye is so clean. It just switched by it self. Cause you want to see what your shooting at. and want to see the hit. I went back to the shelf shooting, and worked on my follow thru. I hit where I am looking, so it does not matter to me any more.
Ps. Shooting with tri-focals helped me out a bunch.
