Has anyone used a pack from Wilderness Pack Speciaties?
I was working a booth at a sports show and saw these guys. They are out of Klamath Falls Or. They seem to be well built and made in the U.S. The systems are a little heavier than the internal frame packs I have been using (6.4 LBS. compared to 4.4 LBS). The frame was comfortable with a load on it(85 LBS.) and I like diffrent configurations that are possible. I would like to hear from folks that have used there products.

I used one for a season and sold it. Never liked the load lifters that are too low to work correctly(no lift at all) with heavy loads like elk quarters. The lumbar area of frame was too straight for MY back and “dug in” through the hipbelt no matter how I adjusted it. The frame/harness can be had cheap in military surplus stores(75 bucks?). Another thing is that it is HARD to sell if you don’t like it. I recomend Kifaru,Mystery Ranch, or other name brand packs that are easier to sell or trade and work way better. Of all my previous packs it was my least favorite.Sorry, I did not say what you wanter to hear.

Thanks for the heads up, I did notice the load lifter straps being a little short. It’s hard to get a real feel of a pack by wearing it for 5 min. I have a couple of pack frames just looking around at whats out there.
