It’s been a long winter! Ever since last fall I can’t find a Zippo lighter I would choose to take to the afterlife! It’s here somewhere. Has anything of yours wandered off on its own?

Actually, my old Case pocket knife. Hard to believe that something like that can still be on your mind from over 40 years ago.

I was cleaning fish on the far side of Bonham Reservoir, got through, went down the mountain to mom and dad’s place and realized my knife was gone. I bogeyed back up there and no knife. Dang.

Ralph – I lost the Case I’ve been carrying for over 40 years a couple summers ago. I tore the house up and my wife eventually found it. It amazes me how I can get so attached to stuff (usually well broken in over decades…). I think things like that anchor me to what I consider simpler times. Am debating to put a .54 round ball right thru my smart phone and go back to a dumb phone and save a few $’s too. It is a time waster of Biblical proportion in my hands.

I think I have really lost a bit of my mind this AM. The d..n wind has been blowing 35-60 mph since yesterday. That’ll make you lose lighters, knives and friends. I’m going to a 3D shoot and I’ll probably lose some (more) patience.

My wife’s word, which is not in the dictionary, the incessant wind makes me” crudgety”:D

                Glad your knife returned.

My passport. 🙄 It’s expired but it would make getting a new one easier.

My first pocket knife my dad gave me when I was a kid. It was a Daniel Boone knife. I have a recurring dream that I find it in my folks back yard. best, dwc

I lost a knife recently too. The funny thing is it’s by far my biggest knife, my Gerber LMF. I was going crazy looking for it. Had my field pack and day bags and webbing rigs all stripped out on my garage floor looking for the thing. Where the hell could this broadsword be?

I ended up finding it days later in a dry bag which I had set aside for a little kayaking trip full of stuff “I might want to take”, didn’t take, then forgot about the bag being set aside when I was washing/reservicing all my kayaking gear. I also found a hat and sunglasses I had been losing my mind over about a month ago. 😳

                        Youth.

Still looking for it, convinced I will find it, the gods love an optimist.

                        Mark.
