I had my arrows pretty well tuned, flying straight and true. 400 Beman Bowhunters, with 50 grain insert and 225 grain heads to fit my 46# Stewart Slammer Special. Well, I came into some Tuffheads, complete with matching field tips and really want them leading the way this season. But they are heavier than my setup. I mounted then on shafts that had smashed front ends and needed to be cut off about an inch and a half shorter. They flew alright, but not great. I figured I’d start trimming a bare shaft down until I got it to fly straight. Before I cut a shaft, I wondered what would happen if I put a Tuffhead weighing 75 grains more on my usual shaft. I figured it would wobble quite a bit, but no. The arrows flew straighter than with the other tuned heads. Amazed, I made up a bare shaft the same length and that one flies as well as any of them. Surprise, surprise, although I shouldn’t be too much. The same thing happened when I first shooting this bow and was using aluminum shafts. I increased the weight and it still flew fine.

David that is a good one to hear, I recently tried some wood arrows and had the opposite of good luck. Where I could not get the shaft to fly true like i wanted.
