Finally got out in the woods Sat and I sat in a little hickory grove that has a couple of white oaks and a black jack oak. They weere really going after the black jack acorns. Un fortunately squirrel was not in till today but I know where to find them. Did not see any deer.

A view from behind the bow….

Yeah, I know the cell phone pics are not so good.

Lots of young squirrels this year,… so let them go and let them grow…

The heat this year has really put the kibosh on the deer. They seem to be moving mostly at night. But on those rare cool wet days boy they move around a lot.

          Good luck with the squirrels!

Have to agree with the heat. Been a big toll on movement. All I saw last weekend were P&Y squirrels too. 😀

Cool front moving in this weekend so hopefully I’ll have a harvest to share. Good luck guys.

Beautiful fall day here in Ohio. I’m getting ready to go out this afternoon and put in some time in my blind. Hope the deer are moving. On my way home from a dr’s appt., I had a doe run across the road just ten feet in front of my car. Whew!!! Guess maybe they are moving….Good luck to all you brothers and sisters out there.:D

Weather in No Mi has been real nice, too nice, temps in the 60s and 70s with a lot of sun! I have been hunting 2 spots, one is off an Oak ridge off a dried up pond, 4 nice buck rubs on the tag alders and another new rub not 20 yards from my blind! I have not seen a deer yet in this spot but the squirrels are thick, mainly Blacks but quite of few true Grays! I may dedicate a day to nothing but squirrel hunting in the mid afternoon! Now my other spot is in a corner off a big farm field full of big round hay bales, lots of deer in this area! Have been seeing a nice 8 or 10pt with a doe, seen the pair on 2 differant nites, but not close enough for a shot! No signs of any rut up here yet! Last nite I had 9 turkeys right at dark that flew in and roosted right where I walk out that was cool as hell!

Been raining here too but this weekend is looking promising. The woods are ablaze with color and there is still alot of foliage still hanging on. Going to spend some time in the squirrel and deer woods! Note to self: Don’t forget the camera.
