Forge slipstream arrows are parallel-tapered-parallel arrows that are said to have 30% FOC with a 85 grain head. Any one have any experience with these?

I have not used the Forge Arrows. I have tried Arrow Dynamic tapered shafts. What I mean to say is I spent about 30 minutes with them trying different point weights.

What I found was that they flew straight no matter what I did. No fishtailing, no porpoising. They flew like the proverbial dart. Problem was, they didn’t go where I was looking. I found they were very sensitive to release. Which is bad for me cause I have a terrible release. In my case they would go way left if I had a poor release.

My goldtip shafts were much better performers for me.

Here’s an interesting point – The tapered shaft and my gold tip shaft were the same length with the same fletching. When I checked FOC, the Gold tip shaft had a balance point closer to the tip than the tapered shaft. This was unexpected… But I switched from carbon express to gold tips because for the same shaft spine my arrows got 70 grains lighter and allowed me to put that extra weight up front 8)

Just 1 guy and 1 arrow, so take it for what its worth.

I’d not heard of them. I have a REALLY difficult time believing 30% FoC with that arrow and an 85 grain tip is possible.

Have not heard of “Forge arrows”, more info please.

What in the heck does “parallel-tapered-parallel” mean?

Thanks for putting the link Patrick. I think they are carbon arrows. Expensive. I do have 19 GT Expeditions which are .500 spine. I think they are 7.4gpi. I tried the wt kit and had to put 750 grains to get bare shafts to fly ok. They were about 29% FOC. Total arrow wt was 974 gr. I don’t know if I can use these. It appears difficult to put that amount of wt with adapters and broadheads to add up to that wt. up front. I had to use about six inches of 30gr wt from the wt kit. This is not practical. The Forge are only 7.0 gpi with wt forward built in. People here says that the lower the gpi the easier to add foc to the front. I may try Easton Flatline which are 6.5gpi and come full length at 32 3/4 inches long. Maybe they will be light enough and long enough to get good FOC with no problems
