Well… my season is done. Had a lot of experiences and a lot of memories. Didn”t fill a tag. But not for lack of opportunity. Just more selective as I get older. Although, I am largely a solo hunter, I hunted with Alex several times over the past month. Alex is a hard dedicated hunter and a good partner. He’s finishing up the season tomorrow, chasing a couple of bucks still in the area. Good Luck my friend!
Well, I was right. The season went by too quickly. But I Thank God for the time, opportunity and ability to do so. By His Will.. I look forward to next year. And many more happy trails to come.

Steve,
Although I’m largely a solo hunter as well, I thoroughly enjoyed the time spent together. I hope we can do it again next year. Oh, and also thank you for givin’ up your honeyhole 🙂
Take care -
Amen my brothers. One more opportunity tomorrow. I’ll be dressed head to toe in my wool carrying my Northern Mist Whisper creeping silently through the woods of Van Buren County. Will tomorrow be the day? Will my tag be filled? Only God knows. I’ll be thankful for every moment He has given me this season. I’m a grateful man.

It’s not the end of the trail, just the start of a new one!

well our season doesnt end untill the end of january, but only crazy folks like dad and I are out and about, lol. Na it wasnt that bad, well okay tuesday was bad, highs in the 20’s with winds up to 50 mph:shock:, we slept in on that day. But it is good to hear that you had a good season steve, I hope you have many more to come!

This is true. I am already planning snowshoe hare hunting with the bow. Upcoming Trad Shoots. And of course, I already marked my calendar for Compton’s Rendezvous!
We need “the off season” as preparation for next season! And a few laughs in between…

Great sentiments Steve. I agree that hunting is more than just getting a deer. We are blessed if we can enjoy the hunt regardless if we get a deer or not. 🙂
