I have three good stone points that I will be putting on arrows in the next couple of days. Not sure if I’ll use them yet or not this season, but I plan on taking them with me. Does anyone else use stone points?

I’ve used them in the past, but not lately. I’ve only shot one animal, a hog, but I hit him right square in the shoulder blade. No penetration.
Stone points can be sharpened if you know what you’re doing. Depending on the stone, they can be just as sharp, or sharper, than steel. good luck.

Finished two yesterday evening that I’ll be carrying with me opening morning. Will depend on how I feel when I climb in the stand if I’ll draw one from my quiver. I’ve also get some with trade points on them that are flying really well so it will be a tough decision.

Here is what my finished heads look like.

That is something I’ve yet to do and the “problem” is not the points themselves but a mental attitude.
I hope somedayto do so but feel “I’m cheating” if I dont pair them with a SELF (as in ME) made longbow and I lack the drive and determination……..plus I have too much fun shooting my current old stuff. 😀
Danged, old brain……..I forget his name but carried on a PM swap with a trad hunter on another site that used them exclusively for elk, quite successfully (as in multiple elk taken with them)
“Working” is relative to each of us, but I hope someday to overcome my OCD attitude towards equipment and shoot one or two deer shooting them out of my laminated bows, but they obviously “work” when used appropriately.
Anxious to see more posts here on them.
God Bless

Thanks Steve, and good luck to you this season, no matter what points you are using.
