Well I did some horse trading with my friend Arvin Weaver who builds some awesome osage selfbows. I came home with a beauty that is one of the smoothest bows I’ve ever shot. Wanted to check out my form shooting it as I’m trying to decide if I want to hunt with it this coming weekend so I video taped myself shooting it out of a tripod stand. My form wasn’t the best, but I put most of the arrows where they needed to go. Some more practice and I think I’ll be ready to hunt with it….:)
If you are interested here is the video.

BH,
Nice video,:D I think your right about your arrows being alittle weak in spine. I could hear them slapping the bow on release. They can’t be bad off with shots you put on your targets. Get the spine right and I think you will be very deadly.

Troy you are thinking the spines might be a little weak, I was thinking they were a little heavy. I’ve heard them slap on both accounts. Will try a couple of different point weights to see which one is right. Thanks for the help!!!! Will let you know what I come up with.

Opps!!! my bad!!! Your right they are stiff.
Dumb fingers have a mind of thier own at times.
Increase your point weight and things will get better.

The field points I was using for the video where 145gr. I finished two arrows last night with a 156 and 157 gr trade points that I’m going to give a go tonight. Will let you know how they do. Might do another video as I’ve had some folks request one of me shooting the trade points. I also have some stone points that are 100 gr but need some weaker spined shafts for them. So that is my next goal. Thanks again!

Tested the first two arrows with the trade points yesterday evening and they flew almost too perfect. They were the first two arrows of the day and they both hit their marks, so I can only hope for the same come Saturday morning if I get the chance.
