Well Will’s new bow and arrows arrived today in the mail! He was so excited to get out and shoot! Here are pics from his first outing in the backyard.

I put a balloon on a little foam target and he loved it…He was so excited to hit the mark!

Thanks to Troy, Ben and to all that donated…Will loves the kit very much. Your kindness is appreciated!

I’m super happy to see everything arrived in good shape. Had me worried for a little bit when it took a few days longer to get there than expected.

I know Ben, Jody, and Irish were more than happy to make Will so excited as well.

When I was 12 my father gave me a real axe for christmas. Razor sharp, and nearly as tall as me, I loved it more than anything I can remember at that time. My mother threw a morning-after-christmas fit when she found out I’d slept with that axe in my bed.

It was the same way with my first pair of glasses. They slept next to my pillow, waiting to focus the world into blades of grass and flying birds. Things I did not know existed before the glasses did.

Children are serious about life. Without words to express it, they understand the value of a thing beautiful in both form and function.

That axe still chops wood every winter, and migrating geese still put tears in my eyes.

This gift is about more than just archery–I see it in these pictures.

Thank you for making me a part of this,

                              Ben

                                Ben,

He wanted to sleep with it. But, his mother was having none of it. If the woods taught me anything…its you don’t mess with mothers!

PS. I snuck in the release glove… 😉

I can sympathize. My wife has similar feelings about sharing the bed with me and my Robertson. 😉
