        Here are some I took.

First time walking a beach with intent to hunt a whitetail deer or any other game for that matter.:D

Hunting the dunes right off the beach. The Atlantic in the background.

Trail and tracks in the dunes

A Downy Woodpecker flew into a hole in this withered, dead, live oak to go to bed for the evening. First time I’ve seen a woodpecker on the beach. LOL!

        Views from stand locations:

On edge of salt marsh at low tide

This spot was deep in the palmettos. I put my lock on in a palm tree. A first for me.:D The palmettos are anywhere from 6ft-8ft high. I was plowing my way through the sharp edged plants, and found this opening out in there. The game trail was worn, and this is where I saw the boar. He ran across the opening in the narrowest spot, and actually got to within a few yards of me, but I couldn’t get a clear shot through the palmettos. This was my first setup and the salt marsh pics above are from my second setup. I should have stayed put in the first location, but…… I had to move around some to simply see more of this beautiful island!

        This is the North Trail.

All of us put several miles on our boots walking down this beautiful stretch of island road.

I saw Etter take a pic of his bow on the beach and thought it was a cool shot. Here’s my White Wolf Beowulf

        One more beach pic

I pulled 1 tick off me, and got bit a few times by some sand gnats. Didn’t see the first skeeter. Never turned my thermacell on.

                  Not bad at all.

Bugs like me more. I pulled off five ticks and my forearms got destroyed by sand gnats any time it got over 50 degrees.
