Hard to know what to say. We talk often about where our food comes from, plant and animal alike. My kids are involved in every step from field to plate.

That’s just sickening. Those are the types of people that become serial killers.

They should, at the very least, be brought up on animal cruelty charges. Sadly, those charges don’t bring much of a penalty most of the time.

IMHO, it’s the “dirty little secret” that people forget about when they stroll through the store and pick up turkey, chicken, beef, etc just like they pick up tomatoes, peppers, and celery. All of the feeling has been taken out of it with fancy packaging, pictures of mouth-watering burgers on the grill and a fine classical tune to go with “Beef, it’s what’s for dinner”. Then, when things like this come to light, some people swing to the opposite end and become PETA mooks (just learned that word today). Meanwhile, those who know the paradox of having to take a life to sustain one have a totally different view. We shake our heads at the cruelty that we see, and we try to distance ourselves from it. We try to show that we are not “those people”. We do that, but until the 80% of the public that does not hunt realizes that a side of beef and a sack of potatoes are not the same, we are fighting a losing battle. IMHO. Be well.
