I have not seen this addressed when I have looked into it. Maybe a stupid question, but do you use a point when bare shaft tuning or is it a truly bare shaft with nothing on it? Thanks

Always with a point Mojo as, apart from the dangers of smashing arrows without a point, you need to tune with the relevant weight up front. There are loads of threads on here about bare shaft tuning, just use the search function.

Bare shaft tuning is tuning your arrow to your bow without fletching. You will need to have the point weight the same as or as close to your broad head weight as you can get, you will also want the arrow sealed, if shooting wood, and have the cresting done, if your finished arrow will have cresting, prior to tuning.

You do not want to bare shaft with a broad head.

            Good luck

Thanks guys. I thought this was the case, but never saw it explicitly stated
