What’s the popular method of temporarily taking the gloss (and reflection) off our bows these days. In the old days we used to wipe string wax on the shiny parts but sometimes got the wax on the grip which often resulted in bloody noses. I’m not a fan of bow socks and I don’t want to mar an antique.

This fall I had my wife pick me up a roll of CONTACT PAPER. The stuff used inside cabinets and such . Fairly natural looking wood grain . Goes on easy ,,,comes off easy .

I generally don’t worry about the reflection except with turkeys ,,,,their just so da’gum picky about bows it seems .

Wood furniture wax,(Carnauba) just put it on and don’t buff it. Stays dull, and not sticky and protects your bow. When you want, just buff it up and looks like new.
