We’re in the Golden State for Christmas, and of course we brought our bows with us to take advantage of the milder weather and pursue some wily stumps…

        Our roving companions:

Luna made sure no squirrels snuck up on us while we were focused on the task at hand:

A Bear and a Buffalo meet in the woods… (I’m sure there’s a joke in there somewhere): 😆

        HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!!!!

And if you get out for a holiday rove, please feel free to throw in your pics here!

You know, Mike, I’ve suggested it, but she loves this one. I’ve tried to explain to her how wonderful it is to own multiple bows, but being for more intelligent and practical than yours truly, she’s not buying it. 😉

We got out again the day after Christmas for one more rove before hitting the road back to Idaho:

With smaller fletching, I bet this would have been a ‘complete pass-through:’

You don’t want any of these cones dropping on you…:

My best shot of the day – threadin’ the needle:

Is there anything better than wandering through the woods with a bow and a handful of arrows? Good for the soul, I tell you.

But now we’re back home and it’s currently 2F outside and the snow is knee-deep in the yard. Already looking forward to AZ…

Bruce – what part of Cali were you roving around in? Just curious if it was anywhere near my parts…

                Cameron –

We were in southern Ca, on the edge of the San Gorgonio Wilderness. Some great country in there once you get off the beaten track – easy to forget that L.A. is only an hour and half away…

                You’re farther north, aren’t you?

Yep – I am more central california – Clovis – I move about in the Sierra National Forest. I grew up in So. Cal mostly Huntington beach but I have spent a lot of time at Joshua Tree rock climbing all through college and earlier years of marriage. Love that area.

I went out in search of some peace and quiet today and found it. This is my favorite time of the year to walk the foothills. Everything is green and cool!

Glad to see you got out as well, Cameron. Those look like nice hills to wander around in.

Nice photos. Season is still open here so I’m still squirrel watching. Enjoy. David
