I thought once upon a time that recurves were the “it” thing. I have 4 hanging on the wall.

Two I’d sell in a heartbeat, the other two????

One of them is like a 71-72 era 45# Bear Grizzly that is in mint condition, the other is somewhere around a 1958 Black Widow, 55#, metal riser, take down. I still have the original case for it too. The latter is too much bow for me.

But like Bruce, I 99.99% of the time shoot my longbows. Something about, ‘they just fit’.

You should have held on to it. I was bitten by the longbow bug about 5 years ago, and that’s all I shot. Now I came full circle and I’m liking the recurve again. Good thing I didn’t sell it. I had offers.

I find may people that have done the same as me. As with any “bug” there is a recovery.

Stix, I think he’s just using good tactics. What comes his way now will be something new. :wink::D

Yes, I failed to look at it from the point of getting a new bow should you “fall off the wagon.”

Im down to nine longbows and two recurves i have a Jefferry take down that’s just a really sweet i havent been able to part with but it doesnt get shot anymore and then a Kota killum very similar the the pictured great Northern, its 62# @ 28″ bamboo and glass it shoots almost like a longbow just a sweet bow. i had no problem parting with my black widows,bears,shakespears,Browning or wing bows as nice as they were they dont shoot like a longbow so transitioning between bows really didnt work for me my intent was to go all longbow but it hasnt happened yet. If theres any recurve that would suit a longbow shooter it would be something similar to that great Northern they are worth checking out if you are in the market for something slightly different that wont cause a huge disturbance to your shooting form.

I’m still mainly a curve shooter, I have a couple of long bows, and a batch of all glass ben persons that are probably accurately called static recurve designs. If I ever get 100% satisfied with how accurate I am with the curve bows, maybe then I’ll move over to the longs. Until then I can’t complain. In general, as long as it doesn’t have wheels, I won’t judge.

I actually want to sell/trade my Robertson Stykbow longbow, I’d gladly trade it for the right model/poundage of Bear curve

Yeah and other info. Someone I know has a ’72’ era Bear Grizz, 45#. Actually pulls 49# @ 28″ This R2 guy. Amarillo-120 miles-gas cheaper than shipping-but I’m looking at 45-50# bows max. 😀

This bow will be a too heavy for what you’re after; I believe it pulls 60#@27, but I’ll provide some details soon.
