I have been drooling over traditional recurves now for a coupl years. It will be my first traditional bow and I keep comming back to blacktail by Norm Johnson, and blackwidows. Alot of people I see shoot blackwidows, and Ive read good thing about them. I like the looks of there PAII. Havent seen any of them more beatuful than Norms, and he’s two hrs away. Thoughts-experiences….

Blacktails are fine looking almost so you don’t want to bring them in the woods. I hunt with a blackwidow and it is at home in the woods. Spend the time fine tunning it and once you in the sweet zone it becomes an extentsion of your arm. You will fine yourself always going back to it over the years.

This is a question I’ve been asked over and over,”which bow should I buy?” My advice is always the same.. both, no seriously, I recommend calling and visiting with both bowyers, buying a custom bow is and more than an investment it is a relationship between you and the bowyer. He wants to make you happy and in return you want to make him happy, by sending him positive feedback when you send him photos of your kills or shooting ability with his bow. So stop asking and get on the phone and develop your personal relationship with your bowyer. he’s waiting to make you a bow!
