Which web sites or places of business do you recommend for Tradional Archery Supplies. Looking for a place with good prices and fast shipping and most important someone that actually understands our sport. So many suppliers have no idea what a recurve or long bow is…

3 Rivers Archery has good customer service. Bass Pro has a few traditional items. There are others you can find with a google search.

i have tried a few from google search most don’t even know the difference between a recurve and longbow. I have used 3 rivers before they are good but ship very slowly.

I’m surprised to hear that, the times I’ve ordered from 3 Rivers they have shipped fast. I’ve been pleased with their service.

3Rivers – Good service, great customer service with knowledge when asking questions. Simply the best traditional archery supplier available today for our needs.

I’ve had nothing but good experiences with 3 Rivers.

Braveheart Archery is also REALLY good. Not as much inventory but they ship very quickly and you can paypal.

There are plenty of people who carry arrow-makings if you need that. Fletcher being one of them from thefeatheredshaft.com

I will admit that I buy a lot on ebay – especially feathers. There are some really good archery shops with ebay stores.

3 Rivers hands down!! I have gotten basically all of my traditional equipment from 3 Rivers and their service and advice is first class.

                      -Kustom King
Both have excellent shipping times and great inventory. Trad tech has lots more for the target guys but my impression is that you are a primitive guy so you will be disgusted buy most of their stuff.

Tradtech’s site is confusing to me which is why I haven’t ordered from them.

I’d always rather buy things from shops.

I don’t like or use 3-rivers, Had bad experiences with them. They may be great for others and I am glad for them but not with me.

I am trying Bowhunters International for some stuff and Big Jim’s for arrows.

3 Rivers has ALWAYS Been a top notched company in many many years of sales…even when Todd and his partner owned it before Dale Karch bought into it.

Others I have always had good results…Kustom King ARchery but only when they used to actually be known for their custom wooden arrows and taper shafting. Now they no longer make custom wooden arrows…what a shame.

Raptor Archery (Ted Fry) is another I have always had good results….as well as Screaming Eagle when Paul Brunner owned it. I heard it is coming back but only for tree stands and such….so far.

Kim Sha Archery in Maryland….good arrows, gloves, strings…and a fine bow as well.

Linda Brackenbury for strings….I also got some good ones from Lee “Dogman” when he was dabbling in business.

For general gear there may be one or two negative comments out of 10s of thousands…but I still stick by 3 Rivers and Raptor Archery as two of finest…3Rivers for general gear….Ted Fry at Raptor for primitive gear.

I go to Kustom King now when i need anything. used to go to 3 rivers when Ferree and Smith had it in FT Wayne. Great guys and great service. Been to Ashley now a couple of times. Won’t be going back there. All they want is my money!

I usually buy from Kustom King, 3Rivers, Lost Nation Archery, and Emerald Archery which is another Michigan owned traditional archery shop. He is very competitive in his pricing. You can google all of them.

I live in Europe so order from 3 Rivers and Bogensport-Bodnik.

                                        Cheers

Tim Harms at Braveheart Archery is great and has good prices and about the best shipping charges around. Lost Nation and Kustom King and 3RA are good as well.

KK does quite a bit of business in Europe, and most any of us will ship to there. Credit cards and PayPal really make it easy to deal with the currency differences.

I have had great experiences with 3 rivers. My orders have arrived quickly. I even stopped in a month ago while on a family trip as they are open to the public on Saturdays. One of the techs spent a half hour with me helping me decide on the right arrow spine for what I wanted to do with front loading.

I got started ordering all of my gear through 3 rivers and have had no complaints. I still order quite a bit from them, however I stumbled upon “The Footed Shaft” when I moved to Minnesota. This is a small but fantastic shop. It is owned and run by a veteran of the traditional archery community…Mr. Lamont Granger. He genuinely cares about you as a person and an archer. He has went out of his way to educate me on many shooting and equipment issues. I’ve had nothing but great experiences. Even if you don’t live in MN they ship orders promptly…check out their advertisment in TBM.

My experience with 3Rivers Archery has been nothing but positive … fast shipping, extensive inventory, and superb customer service. 3Rivers is my first stop for traditional supplies. Recently, however, I’ve been buying a few items from Stickbow Supplies, an ebay storefront with great prices, excellent customer service, and fast shipping; only downside being limited inventory.

I’ve bought wood shafts from Rose City, too, and their shipping was fast and free. I live in WV and the order arrived in one day. Alaska Bowhunting Supply, where I buy cap wraps for the carbons I now shoot also ships fast; although I think many of their prices are out of line.

I wish we had a good traditional shop in western Wisconsin, but the closest one is the Footed Shaft in Rochester MN, an hour’s drive from here. The two shops in the La Crosse area are all about wheelbows. At least the people at Arrows in the Square in Holmen don’t laugh when you bring a recurve in to the shooting lanes.

I also stop at Wilderness Dreams in Sand Lake Mi, great little trad shop, whenever I am on my way to Grand Rapids to visit my son!

I also really like being able to read all the reviews and questions about various products on their site – a feature that most of the other trad online retailers don’t seem to offer. Knowledgeable advice on the phone too.
