I set my cams along trails leading into saddles or other terrain features that concentrate game movement. In Az setting cams on water is an excellent way to get them stolen, and while some do good hunting water, Coues are wary enough in their normal state, when around water they are on hyper-alert mode knowing they are in a danger-zone…
Trail cams are another way to see what’s around, and a lot of fun, but nothing beats boots on the ground, watching these amazing deer, and enjoying all that the Mt’s of So. Arizona have to offer…

You got so excited about your mountains, you “stuttered!” 😆
It’s wonderful to see someone with such healthy attitudes toward their wild areas. If all were such, we’d have way less need for regulations!
Enjoy the “boots on the ground” while you can come and go… soon enough, those things tend to fade as we age! :(:o

Hehe DocNock, I was using the touch-pad and double posted, I dont know how to delete, so another boring pic of the Mt’s…
That dang aging thing is already happening, sometimes I spot great deer, but cant get to them due to distance, rougher terrain, etc. I do pass on this info to others with the younger legs… getting old isnt for wimps…

Amen on the aging and adjusting. I walked just a small area on Friday carrying a stand and about croaked. Set one up in a hemlock stand… there were deer there within the last 12 months or so…
The Sat, I got with a buddy up that way and we set another stand, used my pole pruner to clear some shooting lanes, then did the same at my Friday set site, then set one for him, I did the trimming and then we moved an old ladder stand of his!
I was whupped! Working country like those gorgeous pictures of yours, while so very beautiful, is like my Montana adventures when I was in my early 30’s….a “thing of the past 😀
