Vaseline and cotton balls. Works 90 percent of the time. Last option break open one of your Kotexs and light the cotton. This will burn like nothing else.

Gonna stick with the birch bark. Been using it since before most of you were born.

birch bark is one of the best and was always readily available in New England. But it’s hard to find out here.

Wait until you are nice and wet and getting cold

Put your dominant hand behind your back and under your belt

Now light a fire

Now open you first aid kit

Being able to light a fire gives you a warm glow doing it in adverse conditions could save your life.

Yes! Great exercise! I’m gonna try it!

Might be an interesting experiment also in another environment like the high winds we deal with in my part of the world. Not much in the way of wind breaks or shelter.

Right now though with the high fire danger one might be a bit picky in choosing one’s place to practice fire building.
