Decided to scout some new commercial forest land today. There was a gate with a 2track going to a gas well. After parking, I hadn’t walked 100 yards when I looked to my left and saw the biggest buck I have seen in Northern MI. It was only about 15 yards away and just stood there. After admiring it for what seemed like forever, I began to wonder if it was a dnr decoy to catch poachers because nothing moved on it. Finally I started walking again and it pivoted its head as I went by and moved its ears. Then I realized that there was a smaller buck behind it. Guess where I will be hunting October 1st 8)
