Greattreearcher – I know you are a fine young man, and a good shot (I watched your 300 yd ballon pop). It makes me proud that young folks like you are taking up the sports of traditional archery, fishing, trapping. And going to college good job! But listen. Stop with the question marks! Show conviction in what you say. Not everything is a question. Instead say “I will drop him an email.”
I’m sorry to call you out on this. But I have been spending time with the younger members of my family and there seems to be a phonetic style getting popular that requires every sentence to end in a questioning tone. It’s driving me crazy. Like : Fire? Everybody get out? Call 911?
Merry Christmas?

Hey Steve-?
I think it’s a variation of Southern Cal valley speak where every sentence ends on an upward intonation- drives me nuts too!
Say what you mean and mean what you say- listen to some speeches by Churchill, Reagan and Thatcher. No it wasn’t ” Mr. Gorbechov, tear down this wall?” or “We shall never give up?” or “The trouble with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money?” -
Being an older employee of a large corporation, I’m seeing more and more of new hires and student interns coming in with that style of speech. To me it sounds indecisive, but my generation would interpret it that way. It may not matter if they are communicating with others like them but as long as older folks are doing the hiring there could be a problem coming across as indecisive. I want to believe it is a fad that will eventually die off.
Well, we are getting off topic here. The main concern is what’s going on with Steve Sr. -

Well guys I just heard from him, and he said that he is having some tough finacial problems and is having pain . . . so he hasnt felt very social, but he said that he will NEVER leave us and he will be back!!! And said I could pass that along, so we should keep him in our prayers!

The old goat Steve Sr. is alive and kicking ….fighting the good fight and thankful for the concern and many prayers that have helped me along I am sure.
Back amongst you all! LOTS of reading to catch up on from all your fine posts and information. WOW!
All is not quite WELL here but…….eh, life is life and blessed be those able to yet breath in the air, bask in the sun (and rain) still able to share life and laughter and of course, information amongst their bowhunting brethren.
Spring time hopes of MAYBE adding to my array of archery equipment a bit. Be rest assured it WILL BE EFOC in nature, Ed Ashby influenced in all ways and……..shot with dedication for the summer ever dreaming of the yet encounter with ye old “wall hanger”.
Thanks again to ALL……..and GOD BLESS!

Hey, Doc Ed and Steve Sr. back from the dark side in the same week! :D:D:D This site is “tighter” than most, insofar as there are fewer of us, so we get to know one another better and miss and worry about any beloved regular who drops out. Now, were I to disappear, well, as my wife puts it: “He’s the kind of guy who brightens every room he walks out of.” But she’s never had a sense of humor :roll::P:lol:
-
Glad you’re back Steve Sr. !!!
-
Good to see you back Steve, bit of sun will soon have you feeling brighter.
Dave, my wife can be equally complimentary, she recently suggested that if I really loved her I would have married someone else, after 26 years! I was hurt.
Mark.
