We do not have that many bugs around here during the hunt but in the summer sometimes when scouting the mosquitoes can get quite bad. I was talking to my son who lives in Hawaii and does battle quite often with bugs and he told me about a product. Now this product has been around for a while. It’s called Basic H and I think is a Shaklee product. Without getting into their marketing strategies, has anyone tried this product as an insect repellent. He said it will kill them if they walk through it and if you put it on your skin straight, it is a good repellent. I usually use deet but don’t like the smell too well. I’m thinking of trying this stuff. Anybody have an opinion? Gary

P.S. I know it is mainly used as a cleaning product.

Never heard of it. Its in the cleaning section of the store? My worry is if you have to have it on thick enough to kill bugs, what damage can it do to you

I haven’t heard of it either. For ticks and chiggers I use Permanone on my clothes and I haven’t found anything more effective than that. For skeeters I use a Thermacell.
